Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the Calwell Group Centre upgrades. The What We Heard report is now available.

We will use this feedback to finalise the design for the upgrades that we deliver.

The ACT Government is upgrading local shopping centre precincts across Canberra, creating and protecting local jobs and supporting local businesses.

We want to create public spaces that will encourage the community to shop locally, support local businesses and build community connections by bringing people together at their local centre.

The design shows a range of upgrades that aim to improve safety, accessibility and the look and the feel of the space.

The community was invited to provide feedback on the preliminary design, including what proposed upgrades were most important to them. This included:

• safety and access such as new and upgraded paths, safe crossing points and improved parking opportunities
• new amenities such as seating and tables, plantings, murals and playground improvements.

Canberrans also had the opportunity to provide feedback on what they felt was missing from the proposed upgrades.

Feedback from the community will help us better understand the community’s priorities for the planned upgrades and inform the final design for construction.
