Engaging with the local sector
Major Projects Canberra actively engages the community in meaningful ways regarding projects that have significant impact on Canberra and its residents.
During the planning and early design phase of the Canberra Theatre Centre Redevelopment project (the Project), we initiated consultations with people in the local performing arts sector.
We established a Performing Arts Reference Group (PARG) through an Expression of Interest process. We selected 20 individuals who represent a diverse cross-section of Canberra's performing arts practitioners, local performing arts venues and live-performance patrons.
The primary goal of the PARG is to enhance understanding of considerations, issues, concerns and social and environmental priorities within the local performing arts sector related to the Project. The Project team actively considers the views, ideas and recommendations provided by the PARG.
As at 2023-2024, the members of PARG include: Cathy Adamek, Christopher Carroll, Ian RT Colless (until Dec 2023), Hannah Cormick, Tom Davis, Kat Hughan, Aislinn King, Liz Lea, Elizabeth Little, Sammy Moynihan, Kojo Owusu-Ansah, Alison Plevey, KG Kagiso Ratlhatlane, Luke Rogers, Lexi Sekuless, Disa Swifte, Karen Vickery, PJ Williams, Michael White and David Whitney.
