Upgrades are coming to the public spaces at the Evatt local shops on the corner of Clancy Street and Heydon Crescent. These upgrades will improve access and the overall look and feel, encouraging the community to shop local and spend more time in their suburbs.
Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the below preliminary design. Feedback is now being reviewed and will be used to finalise the design for construction.
Key features
The preliminary design below includes the following key features:
- new seating and tables providing spaces to sit and gather
- proposed nature play and accessible play elements which may include an accessible nest swing, balancing logs and steppers
- art murals to brighten up the area
- new accessible parking bays
- additional trees and better landscaping
- improved access for pedestrians including paths, safe crossings and stairways
- resurfacing of the service area off McClure Street and improved access and safety at Heydon Place.
