The Canberra and Region Heritage Festival returned from 11 April to 10 May 2026, celebrating the places, stories and people that have shaped our city. This year’s theme, Mid-century – innovation, change and optimism, highlighted a time of bold ideas, creativity and cultural transformation in Canberra’s heritage.

The festival featured a diverse program of events for all ages — from architecture, design and local history to First Nations stories and hands-on activities. With tours, talks, exhibitions, food experiences and even dancing in the dark, there was something for everyone.
