About the project

Public spaces are the glue that holds communities together. Walkable, accessible, well-designed open spaces can allow people to relax, exercise, meet, play, chat, connect and enjoy the natural environment.

The Education Directorate is refreshing Fraser Oval to create a natural, safe, fun and accessible space for students at Fraser Primary School to learn and play. The refreshed oval will also be a welcoming space for the wider community to enjoy outside school hours.

Last year, students, families, Traditional Owners and the wider community were asked to share their ideas on the Fraser Oval Refresh. Thank you to everyone who contributed.

This feedback has helped shape the preliminary concept design, which is now available for review.

This is an illustration only; the detailed concept design is available in the document library.

This design is based on what you told us last year and aims to create an open, welcoming space for students and the community.

We are inviting further feedback before finalising the design. Please note: the concept design has not yet been market-tested and is subject to change.

How to provide feedback

We encourage you to share your comments, questions or suggestions about the concept design.

The impact of having your say

Your feedback has played an important role in shaping the concept design for the Fraser Oval Refresh. The ideas and comments shared by students, families, Traditional Owners and the wider community last year are summarised in the What We Heard Report, and has guided the next steps in this project.

What We Heard Report is now available.

The Fraser Oval Refresh Project works are expected to begin during the 2026 school year.
