Background

Canberra’s beloved Manuka Oval celebrates its 100th anniversary this year.

The first ever event hosted at Manuka Oval back on 5 July 1924 was an Aussie Rules match between Canberra and Duntroon.

Over the years the storied ground has etched itself into the city’s identity, serving as a crucible for countless enthralling games and unforgettable sporting moments. The venue has played host to a myriad of sports and events including boxing, wrestling, rugby league, tennis, cricket, baseball and athletics.

We invite the Canberra Community to share their memories, stories, images and footage of Manuka Oval over the past 100 years in recognition of the Centenary of this iconic Canberra venue. We would like to hear about your family's experiences visiting the venue through the years so we can pull together a rich community history of the 100 years of Manuka Oval.

We will treasure any images, footage or stories shared with us and they will tell the story of not only Manuka Oval, but of sport, entertainment and the Canberra community over the past 100 years.
