Thank you to all community members who participated in the engagement on the revitalisation of the Mawson Group Centre. A Listening Report for this engagement period will be shared here in due course, as well as next steps for this project.

The ACT Government has committed to providing a second supermarket in Mawson. To enable the release of land for this site, a Major Plan Amendment (MPA) will be lodged in 2026. As part of this, we are seeking community views to inform other upgrades to the existing Mawson Group Centre.

We want to understand how you live, shop and play in Mawson, and how you would like to see the shops and recreational facilities grow to support the existing and future Mawson community.

Mawson is included in the Athllon Precinct of the Southern Gateway study area. Any feedback you provide as part of the Mawson Group Centre engagement will be considered alongside other community feedback and used to help inform the final Framework.

Your feedback will help inform the detailed design of the Mawson Group Centre, including defining opportunities for enhancing connections between the shops and playing fields, upgrades to amenities, and ensuring the overall character of the place serves the current and future communities.
