About this consultation

The Independent Competition and Regulatory Commission's (ICRC) regulates electricity, gas and water utility providers and energy retailers in the ACT.

We consulted on the modernisation of the ICRC's enforcement capabilities, including an update to existing laws to provide the ICRC with comparable powers to other economic regulators in Australia.

Modernising the ICRC’s enforcement capabilities will improve the effectiveness of its regulatory mechanisms and help ensure positive outcomes for consumers into the future.
