This project is open for feedback
About the project
We want to hear from multicultural communities about the places you use – and need – to meet, celebrate, learn and connect with each other.
Your answers will help us understand what community facilities people need now, and in the future.
This will help us to use existing spaces better and plan for more flexible ones.
How to have your say
You can tell us about your community and the facilities you use in our survey.
The survey will take about 8 to 10 minutes to complete.
Most questions are tick-box questions.
The survey closes at midnight on 31 May 2026.
You can share the survey link with your community members so they can have their say too.
The impact of having your say
We value your feedback.
It will help us understand what community facilities people need now and in the future.
It will also help us understand how our current meeting spaces are used.
These will help us plan improvements and new, flexible spaces for a welcoming and connected Canberra.
Background information
The ACT is a proud, multicultural city. People from many countries and cultures live here and call Canberra home.
Community facilities are an important part of making our city welcoming and connected. They help people get together, celebrate, learn and connect.
As Canberra's population grows, having the right community facilities it is becoming more important. Some multicultural communities have also told us that the existing facilities no longer meet their needs.
In October 2025, the ACT Government agreed to survey multicultural groups in the ACT. The aim of the survey is to help us understand their current and future needs for community and cultural facilities.
What we learn from the survey will help us:
- find gaps in current community facilities
- plan future priorities for new or improved facilities.
A report with what we learn will be provided to the ACT Legislative Assembly in October 2026.
