The ACT's suburb, street and place names are a tribute to Australia’s remarkable people, its geography, heritage and history.

The ACT Place Names Advisory Committee is inviting community feedback and submissions on the naming of two parks in Kingston and Campbell, and the proposed co-naming of the suburb of Spence.

The proposed co naming of the suburb of Spence is to commemorate Catherine Helen Spence (1825-1910) an author, teacher and journalist. She was Australia's first female political candidate, running for the Federal Convention in 1897, and a lifelong campaigner for electoral reform.

We are also asking the community to help us name the park adjoining Blamey Place and White Crescent in Campbell, and provide feedback on our proposal to name the open space on the northern side of Trevillian Quay on the Kingston Foreshore in honour of remarkable Kingston resident Alf Stafford.
