This project is open for feedback

About the project

The ACT Government has identified areas at the Charnwood, Erindale and Mawson shops for potential improvements. Community feedback will help us understand which improvements are most important to the community and help inform future decisions.

Share your feedback on the prioritised areas and tell us what matters most to you.

How to have your say

Have your say on public space improvements at the Erindale, Mawson and Charnwood shops. Find information below for each shopping area, including survey details and upcoming pop-up information sessions.

Background information

As Canberra grows, the ACT Government is supporting sustainable urban renewal that enhances the qualities we value in our capital. In the 2025-26 ACT Budget, the ACT Government committed to improving shops across Canberra. This includes public space improvements at the Charnwood, Erindale and Mawson shops.

The improvements aim to increase access, connectivity, safety, function, attractiveness and amenity of the public spaces around the shops. The improvements could include pedestrian crossings, traffic calming measures to help increase safety, streetscape improvements, revitalising planting beds, repairing paving or new paths, improving or installing new lighting, addressing minor parking issues, replacing or increasing furniture including seating and bins, providing additional shade and planting more trees.

The impact of having your say

Your feedback will be used to finalise which of the prioritised areas will be improved at each of the shops. This is expected to be completed in the second half of 2026. Once they are finalised, they will be published on the City Services website. Construction procurement is expected to begin in late 2026.
