Consultation now open on voluntary assisted dying in the ACT

7 February 2023

Consultation is now open to inform the development of a voluntary assisted dying model for the ACT.

The ACT Government will use the feedback provided during the consultation period to inform the development of legislation and the model for the ACT.

A discussion paper has been released which provides information and analysis on the operation of voluntary assisted dying schemes in Australian states and presents some of the key questions the ACT should consider in developing our approach to voluntary assisted dying.

There is also a series of shorter discussion guides to support the consultation.

Consultation will close on 6 April 2023.

If the issue of a voluntary assisted dying law raises issues for you or your family, please contact Lifeline on 13 11 14 or Griefline on 1300 845 745.
