The community’s input during this two-staged engagement process has resulted in a Place Design Brief. This brief will be required to be responded to by developers tendering for the sale and development of the land.

Placemaking inspires people to collectively re-imagine and reinvent the spaces in between buildings – streets, open spaces and parks - as the heart of every community and business.

The Suburban Land Agency (SLA) has developed a Place Design Brief with community and stakeholders to guide future land releases in the Belconnen Town Centre. The Place Design Brief establishes the non-financial objectives of the land sale. Future design and development proposals for each site will be assessed against it as part of the land sale process.

The purpose of the Place Design Brief is to define the opportunities of particular redevelopment sites in the Belconnen Town Centre and their catalyst role in creating unique user experiences with a strong sense of place.

During the first stage of engagement in December 2020 you told us what is important to you and what inspires and attracts you to live, work and visit the Belconnen Town Centre. Stage two of the engagement invited community to co-design the Place Design Brief and explore objectives and opportunities for the sites.
