Discussion paper released

29 April 2022

The ACT Government wants to reduce the gambling harm from poker machines or electronic gaming machines (EGM) while supporting sustainable clubs.

A Discussion Paper on how to lower bet and credit limits for EGMs in the ACT has been released for community consultation.

The government’s preferred way forward to progress its commitments to reduce harm from gambling, while future proofing the ACT’s electronic gaming machine regulatory environment, is through introduction of what is called a Central Monitoring System for EGMs.
