TheMorrigan says:

Housing is a human right. Tenants should not have to fear losing their HOME if they dare try to enforce their rights.

tweet_tweet says:

It may be an asset to someone but it is a /home/ to the tenant. It's not right to be able to kick them out without a good reason.

Energy prices look set to jump further. Minimum standards will help reduce financial pressure on vulnerable people.

tweet_tweet says:

supporting rent bidding by appealling to the concept of the free market is a mistake, bidders cannot see who they are competing against.

JessRodgers says:

This is much needed. Again, oversight and penalties are required for policing this.

JessRodgers says:

Very interested in this reform. I hope it can be properly governanced in way that renters don't get unfairly penalised for raising issues.

This will achieve nothing if the other existing loopholes (E.g. relatives moving into the property, only to return to the market a day later

Rodro says:

Reform will not protect landlords / properties. Instead landlords will sell properties in turn less rental available to renters .

FDorothy says:

It needs to be similar to reforms being introduced in Queensland WEF Oct 22 which will include reasonable grounds to end a tenancy.

MySay says:

No cause evictions are a protection for landlords against problem tenants. Consider increasing the time to one year rather than banning it.

These reforms are ideological point scoring which will result in a entirely avoidable homelessness crisis. Oppose minimum standards.

22 August, 2022

Vlad76 says:

The reforms will destroy retirement plans for landlords. I’m selling out and becoming a burden on the welfare system. Oppose the reforms.

Vlad76 says:

I oppose growing your own. Gardens will become akin to toxic sheep dip sites because of tenant use of fertilisers.

SupportingHomes says:

It's a start to see minimum standards specified, but further standards should apply when rent rises above wages growth (per Vic. metric).

Rentersarepeopletwo says:

Short term accomodation has mandatory minimum standards, why is long term accomodation so different? Lotta scared slumlords should be scared

SupportingHomes says:

Though I support reform, I respect parents supporting their offspring's future residence (later home). They should be engaged sensitively.

Whatever123 says:

What is the point of this survey. ACT gov does what they want. Obscene land tax for what services.NSW way lower for same services.

19 August, 2022

Whatever123 says:

If ACT gov want min. standards at landlord expense, then give heavy discounts in land tax and rates.Or I will raise rent. O wait, can't.

19 August, 2022

Whatever123 says:

Yes EER should be disclosed as part of advertising. Tenants also need to use common sense that older homes =higher bills.

17 August, 2022

HYS48 says:

Minimum standards ensure housing is safe and reasonable. If landlords cannot meet the standard, the property should not be for lease.

17 August, 2022

HYS48 says:

Current regulations for eviction are adequate, no cause evictions only provide unfair leverage over tenants and stop genuine complaints

17 August, 2022

Trumbo says:

This Bill socialises private land towards communism. A barbaric totalitarian system better at killing than governing.Keep no cause evictions

17 August, 2022

Trumbo says:

This Bill parallels China’s Land Reform Movement which led to mass killing of landlords & land redistribution to peasants. I don’t support.
