Gungahlin Community Facilities – What you said

18 October 2021

Throughout June and July 2021 we invited you to have your say on what facilities were needed in Gungahlin now and into the future. Almost 300 pieces of feedback were provided through a survey and online mapping tool which asked participants what community and recreation spaces they thought were missing across Gungahlin.

What we heard was:

  • There is strong support for sporting facilities and multipurpose community spaces across the district.
  • Community health facilities and aquatic facilities will be needed in the future as the population ages.
  • There will be an increased need for schools, libraries and arts and cultural facilities.
  • There is strong support to have facilities located in Casey and to utilise land available for community facilities.
  • Other locations identified for facilities now and into the future include the Gungahlin Town Centre, Throsby and Amaroo.

A Listening Report has been compiled, capturing the themes and input provided through this engagement. You can read the full report here.
