Thank you for helping us evaluate the Melba, Evatt and Spence traffic management scheme.

Background

In March 2017 we consulted with the community on the effectiveness of the high priority traffic management measures rolled out on Copland Drive and surrounding streets in Melba, Evatt and Spence.

These traffic management measures which were installed in June 2016 include:

  • Copland Drive – pavement markings to encourage better lane discipline at intersections, a painted median and shoulder between Moynihan Street and Clancy Street, and four pedestrian refuge islands
  • Heydon Crescent – a set of speed cushions and a ‘Stop’ sign at the intersection with Clancy Street
  • Clancy Street – a ‘Stop’ sign at the intersection with Copland Drive
  • Kuringa Drive – extension of the 70 km/h speed zone
  • Copland Drive, Heydon Crescent and Verbrugghen Street – vegetation maintenance
  • Clarey Crescent and Baddeley Crescent – installation of ‘50 km/h unless otherwise signposted’ reminder signs.

A map of these traffic management measures can be found in the document library to the right of the screen.

The evaluation will also include traffic speed and volume surveys, analysis of traffic crashes and any impact the treatment may have had on other streets in the study area.

Once the evaluation report is finalised, the outcomes will be made available online.
