The Heritage Council added the Royalla Woolshed to the Heritage Register on 11 February 2020.
The Royalla Woolshed was built in 1907 with locally sourced bush posts and poles, as well as reused materials from a nearby former schoolhouse. It tells a story of the local response to place.
The woolshed is significant because its pastoral history is well captured in its intact fabric. It is of particular value because of its integrity as an intact complex of structures and machinery of early twentieth century shearing, demonstrating the working life of a shearing shed of that period.
The Woolshed’s endurance in the landscape is of value and the passage of time is reflected in the fine and silvered weather boards of the Woolshed’s north and south gable walls.
