Project overview
The community were invited to provide feedback on what improvements they would like to see around the foreshore precinct in March 2022. Following this, feedback was analysed and preliminary sketch plans were developed for further community feedback in September 2022.
The designs focus on the top four priorities identified via community engagement:
- Replacing the existing Tuggeranong Town Park toilet with new, accessible facilities.
- Improving the shared path network along the Lake Tuggeranong foreshore, including providing more places to sit and rest.
- Upgrading the Tuggeranong Town Park playground with additional equipment to provide more accessible play and more places to picnic.
- Improving wayfinding around the foreshore.
We looked at
The revitalisation of the Tuggeranong Town Centre is continuing with the next stage of improvements set to be delivered along the foreshore precinct. The ACT Government is investing $4.75 million to design and construct improvements across the foreshore to create a more liveable, people focused and active public realm.
These improvements are key to the continued revitalisation of the Tuggeranong Town Centre following upgrades to Anketell Street, the laneway between Anketell Street and Lake Tuggeranong and recent pedestrian and cyclist improvements. They will further improve connectivity in and around the town centre, improve public access and safety and encourage the community to spend more time in our public recreation spaces with family and friends.
