We're planning ahead

Stage 2 of light rail - from the City to Woden - is Canberra’s single biggest infrastructure project and will be delivered in parallel with other infrastructure works in and around Canberra’s city centre.

These major infrastructure projects are expected to impact traffic flows, public transport routes and travel times as well as active travel connections both in and out of the city from the middle of this year. There are also likely to be flow-on impacts to the wider transport network.

The Disruption Taskforce, made up of representatives from across the ACT Government, has been established to oversee the delivery of a comprehensive disruption-management strategy; implementing key interventions at the right times and working closely with stakeholders across government, in the community and the business sector every step of the way.

We are working on ways we can minimise the impact on the community by ensuring there are clear options and alternatives for people to move around the city as well as clear, real-time customer information to ensure Canberrans can make informed travel choices.
