The ACT Government is partnering with Capital Football to deliver the Throsby Home of Football.

The facility will include multiple outdoor football fields, indoor futsal courts, office space for Capital Football staff and associated amenities.

It has been designed to support a range of community and high-performance programs for Capital Football and its affiliated clubs and provide valuable open space for the community to enjoy.

The community was asked to view the design of the Throsby Home of Football and provide comments, which will be used to inform the Estate Development Plan.

The Throsby Home of Football - What We Heard Report summarising feedback from the community is now available from the Document Library.

The Technical Amendment has been approved.

As our city grows, we are committed to delivering more sporting facilities to help Canberrans stay active, healthy and engaged in the sports they love.

The ACT Government announced plans to develop the Throsby Home of Football in June 2019. Since that time, work has been underway to design a facility that will meet technical requirements of the site, as well as national and international football requirements, and has been designed in consultation with Capital Football, which will operate the facility once it is complete.

The community is invited to comment on the on the design, including the site amenity, traffic and construction staging. This will help identify anything else that needs to be considered as we move to the Development Application stage.

Located on the corner of Horse Park Drive and Gecko Way, the ACT Government and Capital Football are investing a total of $33.5 million in the Throsby Home of Football, which represents a considerable investment in new sport and recreational facilities within the Gungahlin region.

The facilities will be made available to the community when not being used for formal games and training activities.

The new Home of Football is due to start construction once all planning approvals have been achieved.

Feedback is being used to assist in the finalisation of an Estate Development Plan for the Throsby Home of Football site.
