Thank you for your feedback on how we can better support Canberra's volunteers.
Your ideas and experiences, combined with hundreds of pieces of feedback from volunteers across Canberra helped develop the Action Plan released Tuesday 22 May 2018. You can read the full media release here. You can also read what we heard in the Volunteering Action Plan Listening Report.
If you'd like to volunteer, head to Volunteering and Contact ACT for more information.
How you had YourSay:
Canberrans shared their ideas to influence and inform the final ACT Volunteering Statement Action Plan to better support volunteering in Canberra.
There were a variety of ways people shared their views by taking an online survey, doing the quick poll and attending a workshop.
The engagement went from 5 December 2017 to 18 February 2018 with the final Volunteering Action Plan released 22 May 2018.
What we looked at:
Volunteering plays an important role within the ACT community as it contributes to building healthier and more resilient individuals, communities and the environment.
Canberrans volunteer for a lot of reasons, such as coaching, playgroups, environmental, animal welfare and education. Volunteers are a diverse group of all ages, backgrounds and occupations , from students looking for work experience to families wanting to support the community, and people in retirement who want to give back and stay connected.
We asked Canberrans for their ideas and feedback to help shape the Action Plan that's designed to improve:
- Engagement and management of volunteers.
- Support volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations.
- Individual well-being, social inclusion and community connectedness.
- Services and activities for the Canberra community as a result of the contribution of volunteers.
How we used your views:
Your ideas and feedback helped us develop a Volunteering Action Plan that will help support our Canberra volunteers.
