About the project

We’re creating a 5-year plan to make Oaks Estate a safer, healthier, and more connected place to live. This plan will focus on what matters most to you—like housing, safety, transport, health, education, and public spaces.

The ideas, priorities, and voices of Oaks Estate residents will shape every step of the journey.

Let’s work together to build a stronger, more vibrant community for everyone.

How to have your say

Your ideas and experiences are essential to shaping the future of Oaks Estate. There are several ways to get involved and share your ideas:

Background information

In May 2025, the ACT Assembly recognised the unique challenges and opportunities in Oaks Estate. This plan is a proactive response, focused on:

  • Understanding and responding to public housing and maintenance needs
  • Creating safer, more connected neighbourhoods
  • Expanding access to health and mental health services
  • Evaluating transport options
  • Supporting education and student wellbeing
  • Revitalising public spaces and amenities

Led by the ACT Government, the plan brings together key agencies - including Housing, Health, Education, Transport, Policing and City Services - to deliver coordinated and impactful change.

The impact of having your say

Your feedback will play a central role in shaping the Strategic Plan. Feedback will be carefully considered and:

  • Summarised in a Listening Report (published within one month of the close of the engagement period)
  • Used to guide the development of the Strategic Plan.

Together, want to create real change—driven by what matters most to you.
