Currently

To place an order, a customer usually accesses the services website, creates a profile, makes their order and provides details for deduction of payment electronically.

When a delivery driver arrives at a customer’s premises, the customer’s funds have usually been deducted at the time of ordering.

Proposed

  • Customers will be required to submit proof of age/identification details when creating a customer profile (eg registering ID and delivery address details) at the initial point of purchase.
  • The person who provided the proof of age/identification must be the person to collect the delivery from the delivery driver. Customers will be required to show proof of age/identification details upon delivery at the request of the delivery driver.
  • Customers must have the option to choose that their identity details are not retained but must then produce their identification documents for inspection at handoff from the delivery driver.
